CleanSweepNY Collection Event - NYSDEC Region 8 - October 2017

The Fall 2017 CleanSweepNY pesticide collection event will be taking place the week of October 2nd in DEC Region 8, which includes the counties of Chemung, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, and Yates.

This program primarily targets farmers and certified pesticide applicators possessing unwanted or unusable pesticides and other waste chemicals; it is not available to homeowners.

New Worker Protection Standard Poster

Facilities growing agricultural crops in the U.S. are subject to the federal Worker Protection Standard (WPS). The Pesticide Educational Resources Collaborative (PERC) has released a new poster which complies with the recently revised WPS. The poster is intended to be used at central locations and at certain decontamination sites. It will be required to be used by facilities subject to the WPS starting January 2, 2018.
