DEC Announces Kelly Turturro New Region 3 Director |
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Basil Seggos today announced that Kelly Turturro has been appointed to the position of Regional Director for DEC's Region 3, which includes Ulster, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan and Westchester counties. Ms. Turturro began her career with DEC in 2006 as a Senior Attorney and was promoted to Regional Attorney in May 2015. In addition to serving as Regional Attorney, Kelly has served as Acting-Regional Director since June 2016. Prior to coming to DEC, Ms. Turturro worked as an Associate Counsel for the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation. "Kelly is truly dedicated to DEC's mission and is a proven leader with wide ranging knowledge of the complex issues. She is a credit to this agency and a terrific ambassador for DEC in the Lower Hudson Valley," Commissioner Seggos, said. Ms. Turturro holds a B.A. in Political Science from Le Moyne College and earned her J.D. Cum Laude from Pace University School of Law. She was admitted to New York State Bar in March 2002. She and her husband Michael live in New Paltz with their daughter. |
