Take It Outside: Summer Educator Series in Van Cortlandt Park on August 23, 24, & 25, 2016 from 9:30 am to 4 pm

Have you been looking for inspiration when it comes to new lessons ideas? Each workshop presented in this series comes with an activity guide filled with lesson plans that connect students to nature while meeting your existing education goals.

These workshops are open to classroom teachers as well as informal educators, after-school staff, and anyone who works with youth in grades Pre-K through High School through a partnership with DEC's NYC Environmental Education program and Friends of Van Cortlandt Park.

Tuesday, August 23 - Forest Investigations
Use the forest as a window on the world! Enjoy lessons and a guided hike through the woods. Participants receive the Project Learning Tree curriculum guide for preK to 8th grade, full of 96 activities.

Wednesday, August 24 - Aquatic Ecosystems
Explore the ponds at Van Cortlandt Park and learn ways to incorporate lessons about water into any subject area. Participants receive both the Aquatic WILD and Project WET curricula guides for K-12th grade.

Thursday, August 25 - Early Childhood
Especially for educators of ages 2-7, these lessons help young minds learn new concepts through nature-based activities! Participants receive both the PLT's Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood and Growing up WILD curricula guides for preschool through 2nd grade.

COST: $25 per day or $60 for all three days
