Where: Sandy Road, Town of Ulster, just past the Olympic Diner When: 11:00 AM - Remarks by local elected officials followed by a tour of the site. 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM The free fishing event. Anyone can fish without a license for in-season fish. All bait and tackle will be provided, but bring your own rod and reel if you have them. DEC fisheries staff will be on hand to assist anyone new to fishing. Directions: Take the Kingston exit (19) from I-87. At the traffic circle after the toll booths, take the second right onto Washington Ave. Go about half a mile and turn left onto Sandy Rd. (Olympic Diner will be on your left). The site is just down the road. Parking is on the left, accessible parking on the right.

The public is invited to the opening of DEC's first fishing and boating access site on the Lower Esopus Creek in the Town of Ulster. The site features a boat launch for canoes and kayaks, a fishing platform, picnic area with grill, and benches.
