Applications Available for $75 Million in Grants for Drinking Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Projects

Municipalities are encouraged to apply for funding under the New York State Water Grants Program administered by the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) and the New York State Department of Health (DOH). This funding is available for municipal drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects that improve water quality and protect public health.

EFC and DOH will host a webinar on Tuesday, March 15 at 11 AM to summarize the grant criteria and application process for this round of funding, as well as to provide an opportunity to ask questions about potential projects.

Fix a Leak Week – March 14-20, 2016

More than 1 trillion gallons of water are wasted in U.S. homes each year from easy-to-fix leaks. That is more than 10,000 gallons per year for the average home. The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) WaterSense® program is sponsoring Fix a Leak Week to highlight the problem of wasted water in homes across the country. As a WaterSense® partner, DEC is promoting Fix a Leak Week in New York. We encourage you to improve the water efficiency of your home by finding and fixing leaks.

Mohawk Watershed Symposium - March 18, 2016

On March 18, 2016, the Geology Department at Union College will host the Eighth Annual Mohawk Watershed Symposium, which is sponsored in part through a partnership with DEC’s Mohawk River Basin Program. The day-long conference will focus on the physical aspects of the Mohawk Watershed in New York State. Recent and on-going work in the Mohawk River Watershed will be highlighted during oral and poster presentations and technical sessions.
