The Nature Conservancy continues to expand hunter access to their preserve network in eastern New York.  Hunters go through an approval process which includes passing a hunter safety quiz and hunter eligibility test. You must also have a valid NYS Hunting License.

In order to participate in the Conservancy’s 2015 Hunter Access Program, interested hunters need complete the following steps:

  • Go to http://tnceny.huntmanagement.net/ and create a new user account.
  • Login instructions will be sent to email provided when creating new account.  Read over email and follow steps.
  • Once in the system, read over the important information found on the following pages: Home, Rules/Regs, and FAQs.  This will allow each hunter to determine if they can abide by our rules and participate in the program.  This also prepares them for the hunter eligibility test.
  • After reading over the above pages, click on Hunter Qualifications.  This will provide the final eligibility steps.  Each perspective hunter needs to take the Hunter Safety Quiz and Hunter Eligibility Test.  Besides giving both the Conservancy and the hunter great comfort and confidence, this is also how we obtain a liability releases.
  • After completing the qualification steps, please give us at least 48 hours to update your status.  Hunters will not see areas where there can hunt until after we update their status.
  • Once a hunter’s status is updated, they begin to see where you have hunting access.

TNC preserves with unrestricted access are: Denton, Emmons Pond*, Freund*, Kenrose, Moccasin Kill*, Nellie Hill*, Neversink, Southern Lake Champlain, and Stewart*.  Those with an asterisk are new for this year.  Information about most of these sites can be found on our website.  Feel free to start scouting at any time.
