Celebrating the Next Generation of Environmental Leaders
The 2026 Rockland Conservation and Service Corps Summer Celebration honored more than two dozen dedicated young people who spent their summer making a lasting impact across Rockland County. Together, they completed environmental service projects that strengthened our parks, protected natural resources, and enhanced our communities—all while contributing 9,100 hours of service.
Thank you to our Corps members, partners, mentors, and supporters for making this season a success. Your commitment to conservation and community service is helping build a greener, stronger future for Rockland.
Community Pride at National Night Out
Families, kids, and neighbors came together to meet local organizations and law enforcement and enjoy fun activities at the 8th Annual National Night Out!

County Executive Ed Day greeted our newest residents as they took their oath of citizenship during the County's Naturalization Ceremony.
We’re proud to welcome these new community members and celebrate this important milestone with them. County departments were on hand to offer their services including Personnel, Health and, Board of Elections. Congratulations to our newest citizens!
Helping North Rockland Students Start the School Year Strong
County Executive Ed Day was proud to join the Town of Haverstraw’s Annual Backpack Giveaway with North Rockland Central School District, helping local students head back to school prepared and ready for a successful year.
Rockland County is also proud to support young people in the Haverstraw community through our Rockland County Youth Bureau’s Youth Employment Program, which provided $150,000 to employ three dozen students through August — giving them valuable work experience, skills, and an opportunity to earn while contributing to their community.
Rockland County Breaks Ground on New Peace Garden
Rockland County broke ground on a new Peace Garden honoring the legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Located along the peaceful creek at the steps of the County Courthouse and County Clerk’s Office, the garden will feature statues of both leaders and provide a place for residents to pause and reflect on the values of peace, compassion, understanding, and unity.
County Executive Ed Day is proud to work alongside the Rockland County Legislature to bring this meaningful initiative to life and create a lasting reminder that peaceful action can inspire powerful change — and that peace begins with each of us.
