JULY RECAP
Residents Participate in Office for the Aging's "Walk With Ease" Program
Senior residents recently enjoyed a walk through Kennedy Dells Park in New City as part of the Rockland County Office for the Aging's "Walk With Ease" program with the goal to improve overall health and wellness.
Thanks to staff from our Division of Environmental Resources for leading walkers through the park and highlighting all it has to offer.
For more information on the program, please call the Office for the Aging at 845-364-2100.
July is Disability Pride Month & Anniversary of Americans with Disabilities Act
County Executive Ed Day has proclaimed July as Disability Pride Month in Rockland County while also recognizing July 26th as the 36th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
This month, we celebrate the achievements, contributions, and resilience of individuals with disabilities while reaffirming our commitment to building a more accessible, inclusive, and equitable Rockland County for all. Details here.
Happy National Park and Recreation Month
This month, we celebrate our incredible Rockland County Parks team that works behind the scenes to keep our County parks beautiful, safe, and welcoming for everyone.
From maintaining trails and facilities to keeping our parks clean, protecting natural resources, and assisting visitors, our dedicated park staff work hard every day—often before the first visitor arrives and long after the last one leaves. Their commitment makes it possible for thousands of residents and visitors to enjoy our parks throughout the year.
