National Public Health Week

During National Public Health Week, we shine the light on the incredible team in our Health Department led by Commissioner Dr. Mary Leahy.
Our dedicated public health workforce continues to keep Rocklanders safe and informed about public health threats, communicable and chronic diseases, and environmental concerns. On behalf of our residents, we truly appreciate all of their efforts!
Rockland Welcomes our Newest Citizens

New residents were sworn in at a Naturalization Ceremony officiated by Rockland County Clerk Donna Silberman at the Rockland Fire Training Center.
Deputy County Executive Mike Hoblin welcomed 79 new residents from 31 different countries including Argentina, India, Ecuador, and Sweden, and wished them well.
County departments were on hand to offer their services including Personnel, Board of Elections, and Health.

As we celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we honor our dedicated professionals in our Rockland County Sheriff's Office - 911/Communications Division who answer the call - day and night - during our community's most urgent moments.

County Proclaims April as Parkinson's Awareness Month in Rockland
In honor of Parkinson's Awareness Month, County Executive Ed Day and Deputy County Executive Mike Hoblin presented a proclamation to the Parkinsons Wellness Project.
The Parkinsons Wellness Project has been a beacon of support for those living with Parkinson’s, providing vital resources, education, and advocacy for individuals and caregivers navigating the challenges of this disease.

Congratulations to our Senior Citizen Award Recipients
Congratulations to our seniors that were honored for their dedicated service and commitment to our Rockland community!
County Executive Ed Day and Office for the Aging Director Cheryl Ward presented this year's Senior Citizen of the Year Award to Susan Flaks and the Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen Award to Katherine Rife.
Participants of the Rockland Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) were also recognized for contributing over 14,000 hours of service over the past year.
