Housing, Open Space Among Top Initiatives For County Executive Ed Day
Rockland County Executive Ed Day marked the beginning of his new term by highlighting what residents can look forward to in the years ahead.
In the address, County Executive Day reflects on the progress made across Rockland County and outlines priorities surrounding workforce housing and open space, among other key focuses, planned for the upcoming term, with a continued focus on fiscal responsibility, quality of life, and service to Rockland residents.

January is National Blood Donor Month
County Executive Ed Day declared January 2026 as National Blood Donor Month and presented New York Blood Center (NYBC) with a proclamation in appreciation of their tireless efforts to ensure a steady and reliable blood supply.
In 2025, nearly 5,000 blood donations were collected from 129 NYBC blood drives across Rockland County - a 16% increase over 2024. Learn how you can help here.
County Proclaims Leadership Rockland Day
Rockland County was proud to take part in Leadership Rockland Day, celebrating the dedicated leaders who help move our community forward.
Deputy County Executive Mike Hoblin joined the event in support of a program that continues to foster collaboration, civic pride, and meaningful impact across Rockland County.
Celebrating the Continued Service of Our Poet Laureate
 We are proud to share that #RocklandCounty has extended the term of our Poet Laureate, Juan Pablo Mobili, in recognition of the extraordinary work he has done in his first year bringing poetry into schools, libraries, cultural spaces, and public gatherings throughout our communities.

Kudos to our Highway Dept. Crews for Storm Cleanup Efforts
In the aftermath of January's major storm that dumped close to 20 inches of snow on our area, we applaud the tremendous work of our County Highway Department crews for ensuring our County roads were clear and safe for travel!
Clean-up efforts continued in our downtown areas so patrons could safely access local businesses.
