Rockland Conservation & Service Corps Celebrates 25 Years
In celebration of the Rockland Conservation & Service Corps' 25th Anniversary, County Executive Ed Day presented a proclamation honoring them for their contributions enhancing our Rockland community.
We also celebrated our Corps members as they presented their final projects that were completed this summer. From restoring trails and protecting our environment to educating the public and strengthening our community, our 26 Corps members gave over 9,100 hours of service across 11 project sites this summer.
Routine Gas Station Inspection – Passed with Flying Colors
The Rockland County Consumer Protection Division of Weights and Measures conducted a thorough inspection at a local gas station as part of our annual compliance checks.
What do we inspect? Accuracy of fuel quantity delivered & correct total price computation. Using certified test measures, inspectors pumped 5 gallons of gas to verify pumps are dispensing within NIST Handbook 44 tolerance standards. Once verified, all fuel is returned to the tanks. View the video here.
This station passed with flying colors – protecting both consumers and businesses alike!
