May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Rockland County Executive Ed Day joined with NAMI Rockland to recognize May as Mental Health Month in Rockland County and raise awareness of mental health illness. NAMI Rockland works to provide support, education and advocacy for people living with mental health challenges.

Rockland Celebrates Opening of New Data Center in Orangeburg
Rockland welcomes the opening of DataBank's new cutting-edge data center in Orangeburg that will help meet the growing demand for increased capacity and critical IT infrastructure and services.

Annual EMS Awards Celebrating National Emergency Medical Services Week

To kick-off EMS Week, the Rockland County EMS Office held their Annual Youth Squad Competition followed by an Awards Ceremony where EMS providers were recognized for their outstanding contribution to their EMS agencies, their communities and the County as a whole. EMS Coordinator Desiree’ Leone-Stoll presented EMS Agency Member of the Year awards to each EMS agency and trophies to the winners of the Youth Competition.
Congratulations to all of those who were honored for their exemplary service who respond day & night to assist our residents in their time of need!
Rockland Highway Department Hosts Equipment & Products Expo
For the first time, the Rockland County Highway Department hosted the 35th Annual American Public Works Association's Equipment & Products Expo at its Chestnut Ridge location. Over 300 public works professionals from across the region gathered to explore the latest tools and tech in honor of National Public Works Week in May. Check out the video here.
County Honored for Preserving Open Space
The County of Rockland was a recipient of the Historical Society of Rockland County’s 32nd Annual Rockland County Executive’s Historic Preservation Merit Awards for the County’s commitment to the preservation of open space and recent acquisition of the DePew Farm in New City.
Over the past few years, over 300 acres were preserved under the County program.
Honoring Our Fallen Soldiers
Rockland County Executive Ed Day and Veterans Service Agency Director Susan Branam commemorated our fallen military at the County's Annual Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony held at The Gulf War Memorial at Haverstraw Bay Park.
Thank you to everyone who attended, including our veterans, local officials and community members, to honor and pay tribute to our fallen heroes. May we never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting the freedoms we enjoy today.
