APRIL RECAP
County Proclaims April 11th as World Parkinson's Day
 Rockland County Executive Ed Day was joined by Deputy County Executive Mike Hoblin to proclaim April 11th as World Parkinson’s Day in Rockland County, presenting a proclamation to Parkinsons Wellness Project which provides a beacon of support for those living with Parkinson’s, providing vital resources, education, and advocacy for individuals and caregivers navigating the challenges of this disease.
Additionally, the County participated in the global "Spark the Night" initiative by lighting the Allison-Parris County Office Building in blue from April 10th-11th.
April is Keep Rockland Beautiful Month
Rockland County Chief of Staff John Lyon attended Keep Rockland Beautiful's Great American Cleanup Kickoff event and presented a proclamation declaring April as Keep Rockland Beautiful Month.
In the past year, KRB has organized over 100 cleanup events to remove litter and debri from our streets, parks and waterways that has in turn contributed to a healthier environment for all.

County Executive Ed Day & Economic Development & Tourism Director Jenna Nazario thank Cambridge Security Seals, a manufacturer & distributor of security seals, for the invitation to tour their Pomona facility.
This is a prime example of how our efforts in economic development bring wealth and a strong local economy to our County.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month
County Executive Ed Day recognizes April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month in Rockland County. We thank Department of Social Services Commissioner Joan Silvestri and our DSS team in ensuring that all children have a safe, stable and nurturing environment.

In honor of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, County Executive Ed Day thanked and presented the Rockland County Sheriff's Office - 911/Communications Division with a proclamation declaring April 13-19, 2025 as 911 Dispatcher Week in Rockland County.
On average, our dispatchers process over 400,000 calls per year, serving as the vital links between our emergency services personnel and our citizens during the worst of times. On behalf of our Rockland community, thank you to all of our dispatchers for keeping us safe!
U.S. Marine Sergeant Honored for Service
Former Haverstraw resident and United States Marine Corps Sgt. Andres Almonte Jr. was recognized by Rockland County Executive Ed Day for his dedicated service to our country and recent promotion to sergeant.
Sgt. Almonte has served in the Marine Corps since 2020 and will be stationed in Japan come May. We thank him for his service and wish him continued success.
NY Blood Center Celebrates 60th Anniversary & Opening of New Campus
County Executive Ed Day was honored to join New York Blood Center for its 60th Anniversary Luncheon and to celebrate the opening of their brand-new 184,000-square-foot campus in Rye!
