 2% County Property Tax Cut
County Executive Ed Day, Rockland County Legislature Minority Leader Lon Hofstein, and Budget & Finance Committee Chairman Legislator Aron Wieder proudly announce the adoption of the second consecutive 2% County Property Tax Cut which goes into effect in 2025.
The tax cuts follow zero increases to County Property Taxes in 2022 & 2023.

Rockland welcomed 100 new residents at a Naturalization Ceremony at the Rockland County Fire Training Center.
County Executive Ed Day thanked all in attendance with a special acknowledgement to El Salvador native Oscar Bolsnos who has been a volunteer firefighter with the Sparkill Fire Department since 2021. We thank him for his service to our Rockland community and encourage all of our new citizens to get involved in our community.
DSS Toy & Children's Clothing Drive
The Rockland County Department of Social Services is truly grateful for all of the donations that were received for children served by the department.
A special thank you to the various County departments & employees as well as residents & organizations who donated items.

County Hosts Interfaith Forum Commemorating International Human Rights Day
 County Executive Ed Day & County Human Rights Commissioner Spencer Chiimbwe hosted a Human Rights Interfaith Forum in honor of International Human Rights Day.
The event brought together community leaders, advocates, and residents to foster dialogue on the shared principles of respect, compassion, and justice that unite people of all faiths and backgrounds including a keynote from Bishop John Bonnici, Episcopal Vicar for Rockland and Westchester Counties.

Our Rockland County Highway Department partnered with the Salvation Army to collect gifts for children in need this holiday season.

County Honors NY Blood Center & Donors For National Blood Donor Month
 At our recent County Blood Drive, Rockland County Executive Ed Day presented a proclamation to New York Blood Center in appreciation of their tireless efforts to ensure a steady and reliable blood supply.
County Executive Day did his part to donate blood before presenting Certificates of Recognition to dedicated NYBC county partners including the Parish of St. Paul-St. Ann in Congers, which has contributed nearly 200 units of blood at its 2024 blood drives, as well as retired county employee Fred Cifuni, who has contributed 141 blood donations—or more than 17 gallons.

Office for the Aging Celebrates Opening of New Office Space
 The Rockland County Office for the Aging (OFA) hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new office space that is nine times larger than the previous office, allowing them to greatly expand and enhance the services provided to Rockland County’s seniors. We’re excited for all the opportunities this new facility will bring to better serve our residents!

Commuter Ferry Terminal Opens in Haverstraw

Rockland County's transportation just got a big upgrade!
County Executive Ed Day attended the ribbon cutting for the new commuter ferry terminal in Haverstraw. The County thanks Martin Ginsburg and GDC for their vision and investment improving quality of life for commuters and visitors alike.
Blessing of the Nativity Creche
 Rockland County Executive Ed Day joined with the Rockland County Catholic Coalition and members of the community for the annual Blessing of the Nativity Creche outside the front of the Allison-Parris County Office Building in New City.
