County Recognizes Consumer Protection Inspectors
County Executive Ed Day presented Inspectors Helena Smith and Julie Ann Glazer of the Rockland County Office of Consumer Protection with Certificates of Recognition for their efforts in protecting our residents against consumer protection scams.
After a closing Rockland business would no longer honor gift cards, Inspector Smith advocated on behalf of a number of customers to make sure they received a full refund from the reluctant merchant. In another case, a resident was dissatisfied with work an unlicensed contractor performed to their pool. Inspector Glazer facilitated a meeting with all involved parties and it was agreed that the contractor would issue a refund in the full amount to the constituent.
Have a complaint? Our Office of Consumer Protection can be contacted at (845) 364-3901, via email at CPLCAL@co.rockland.ny.us.
