Nominations Still Open For Outstanding Environmental Volunteer Award 

Submission Deadline Friday, August 30^th

The County Executive's Outstanding Environmental Volunteer Award recognizes environmental volunteers who care for our parks, champion our watersheds, encourage waste reduction, and enhance the beauty of Rockland’s natural environment.

To be eligible to receive the award an individual must be at least 18 and a Rockland County resident. Individuals who have been nominated in the past, but not chosen, are eligible to be re-nominated.

County Executive Day will honor this year’s winner during a tree dedication ceremony at Kennedy Dells Park on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024, at 11 am.

WWII Hero Celebrates 102nd Birthday

County Executive Ed Day visited World War II veteran Arthur Mosick to celebrate his special 102nd Birthday!

County Executive Day presented the hero with a certificate on achieving this milestone and thanked him for his service to our country.

Rockland County Senior Club Picnic

Members of the Rockland County Senior Club (RCSC) enjoyed food and fun at their annual picnic held on the campus of Rockland Community College in Suffern, along with a visit by County Executive Ed Day and the Rockland County Office for the Aging.

+$217,000 In H.E.R.R.O.’s Awarded

County Executive Ed Day & Office of Fire & Emergency Services Director Chris Kear have awarded over $217,000 in college tuition reimbursements to 107 emergency volunteers including Lauren Hahnenfeld (pictured above), a 22-year-old Nanuet Community Ambulance volunteer and Dave Kryger, a 36-year veteran volunteer with Volunteer Hose West Haverstraw.

County Executive Ed Day was proud to attend the grand opening celebrations of two new restaurants, La Cascada Sports Bar Restaurant and 503 Restaurant, both located in the Village of Haverstraw.
