Light the Night Red for Fallen Firefighters
The County proudly participated in the Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters May 1st through the 5th. In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation the County of Rockland’s Allison-Parris County Office Building in New City and our Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services building in Pomona were lit red.

Congratulations to our 2024 Senior of the Year Award recipients!
County Executive Ed Day and Office for the Aging Acting Director John Lyon presented the Senior Citizen of the Year Award to Libby Mains and Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen Award to John Murphy for their tremendous contributions to our community.
Our honorees should serve as an inspiration to all of us," said County Executive Day. "We thank each of them for their unwavering support and dedication to our community as a whole."
Al Samuels Day in Rockland County
County Executive Ed Day and County Director of Economic Development & Tourism Lucy Redzeposki presented Al Samuels with the Rockland County Economic Development Leadership Award at a breakfast event at The Nyack Seaport on Friday, May 10, 2024, while also declaring May 10th Al Samuels Day.
