County Executives Unite Against Plan To Dump Radioactive Waste Into Hudson River
View Full Press Conference Below
New City, NY, - Rockland County Executive Ed Day joined forces with Westchester, Ulster Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster County Executives hoping to permanently put an end to Holtec's plan to dump toxic waste into the Hudson River.
“While I’m relieved that Holtec canceled their expedited plan to dump 1 million gallons of toxic waste into the Hudson River in early May, we cannot let our guard down. We won a battle; we have not won the war,” said County Executive Day in the press conference. “I urge the EPA, NYS DEC, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, State and Federal elected officials, and residents to continue fighting with us to stop Holtec from dumping radioactive waste linked to cancer into our waterways.”
