Welcome to Financial Literacy Month with Nassau County Comptroller Elaine Phillips
April is Financial Literacy Month. Financial literacy is a term that refers to the ability to understand and effectively use various financial skills, including personal financial management, budgeting, and investing, to build your financial well-being. As Comptroller of Nassau County and a long-time finance professional, this is a concept that is very important to me.
Financial literacy is so important that the U.S. Department of the Treasury created a Financial Literacy and Education Commission in 2003. The Commission launched and maintains a national financial education web site and an ongoing national campaign to promote financial education.
I encourage you to visit the Commission’s website, www.MyMoney.gov, to access information and tools that can help you and the people you know to improve your financial literacy, and therefore, your financial stability throughout the changing stages of your life.
Please feel free to forward this to a friend or family member, and if this was forwarded to you, sign up here to receive my newsletter directly! https://www.nassaucountyny.gov/5478/Newsletter-Signup
