Emergency Water Conservation Advisory
The Dutchess County Water and Wastewater Authority requests that customers of the Hyde Park Region Water System (this includes: Harbourd Hills, Pinebrook Estates, Zone L and Staatsburg Water Systems) take immediate action to reduce water use until further notice.
Please conserve water immediately, as firefighters have been engaged in battling a
structure fire for nearly 12 hours and continued conservation is critical to maintaining system pressure and supporting their ongoing efforts.
We are asking that you take the following steps to conserve water now through Saturday at Noon. During this time customers may experience turbidity and discoloration of their water.
Water conservation measures include:
- Make sure all unused taps (both indoor and outdoor) are completely shut off.
-
Limit or postpone use of water-intensive appliances such as washing machines.
- Check all your plumbing fixtures for leaks.
- Limit or postpone backwashing of house filters and water softeners.
- Postpone washing vehicles.
- Eliminate any unnecessary water use.
