Significant Rainfall Impacts on Dutchess Roadways

Significant rainfall has impacted several roadways in Dutchess County, primarily in the eastern portion of the county, including the towns of Pawling, Dover, Beekman, Union Vale, LaGrange and East Fishkill.

Please use extreme caution when traveling as some roadways may be unstable, undermined or even washed out. If you come across a roadway covered by water, DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH, as the roadway may be unstable or non-existent. TURN AROUND as it only takes a few inches of water to compromise your vehicle.

Local creeks and rivers have not yet crested, so it will take some time for water levels to recede and enable highway crews to make necessary repairs.

The Maybrook Line portion of the Empire State Trail has also been impacted with areas of pavement washed out in the area of East Greenhaven to Depot Hill Road.

Metro-North Railroad (MTA) has service delays and suspensions on both its Hudson and Harlem lines. Visit MTA for service alerts.
