Dutchess County Weekly Vaccine Update


April 19, 2021

Vaccination progress continues with 44% of Dutchess County residents having received at least one vaccine dose and nearly 30% having completed their vaccine series.

Appointments are available this week – read below for details.


Dutchess County DBCH Allocation

This week, Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health (DBCH) is slated to receive 3,500 doses of Moderna vaccine from New York State.

Fixed PODs

We will be vaccinating those ages 18 and older this week at our JCPenney Point of Dispensing (POD) site by appointment only.

Dutchess County Public Transit (DCPT) provides free transportation to County’s fixed POD sites. Passengers simply need to show their appointment confirmation to the bus driver. Call (845) 473-8424 for more information.

Community Pop-ups

We will also be hosting pop-up vaccination sites at Trinity-Pawling School in Pawling with Moderna vaccine this week. Pop-up sites are also by appointment only. County representatives are notifying individuals from our notification list who live in the surrounding area about available appointments. Other pop-up sites are currently on hold as we await updated guidance about the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Partner Pop-ups

We continue to partner with area primary care providers to vaccinate homebound and medically frail senior citizens as well as all other eligible individuals to create vaccine availability throughout our community. We are also partnering with Dutchess Community College next week to help vaccinate students and staff.


Eligibility Updates

All individuals age 16 and older are now eligible to be vaccinated.

*PLEASE NOTE: ONLY the Pfizer vaccine is approved for 16- and 17-year-olds. We do not currently have doses of the Pfizer brand. Pfizer vaccines are generally available at State-run mass vaccination sites. Visit the State's website for appointments.


Other Vaccine Allocations in Dutchess County

We have not yet received allocation information for other area vaccine providers New York State this week. 

Information will be posted our website as we receive it.


New York State Vaccination Sites

Appointments are available at the various NYS mass vaccination centers, which include SUNY Orange in Middletown and the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz. To register for appointments at the State sites, visit the State's "Am I Eligible?" website.

PRO TIP: Even if it says "No Appointments Available," click on your preferred site. There may be recently cancelled appointments available!


Reminders

 

You must show proof of your eligibility

Residents 18 years and older, please be prepared to show one of the following forms of ID at Dutchess County-operated sites:

  • Driver’s license or non-driver ID
  • Birth certificate issued by a state or local government
  • Current U.S passport or valid foreign passport
  • Permanent resident card
  • Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship
  • Life insurance policy with birthdate
  • Marriage certificate with birthdate

When Will I Get an Appointment?

You are receiving this email because you completed the Dutchess County Vaccination Information Request Form. We will continue to send notifications of Fixed POD site appointment scheduling opportunities. You will also be notified if we have available appointments at Community Pop-up clinics in your area.

You can also check our website for appointment availability. Scheduling links for our Fixed POD sites are posted. Appointments may become available last minute due to cancellations or individuals we have contacted about appointment availability have already been vaccinated.

Those without Internet access:

Please call the Dutchess County Coronavirus Information Line at 845-486-3555, Option 1, to hear weekly vaccine updates. You can then select Option 2 to speak with a representative.

Dutchess County seniors citizens:

If you are 60 and older and still need to receive your COVID-19 vaccination, please call the Office for the Aging at 486-2555 for assistance getting an appointment.

If you no longer need to be contacted about COVID-19 vaccination appointments, please complete our new Opt-Out Form.
