Dutchess County Weekly Vaccine Update

Vaccination progress continues with nearly 40% of Dutchess County residents who have received at least one vaccine dose.

Appointments are available this week – read below for details.


Dutchess County DBCH Allocation

This week, Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health (DBCH) is slated to receive 2,200 doses of Moderna vaccine from New York State.

Fixed PODs

We will be vaccinating those ages 18 and older,* including individuals with health conditions and essential workers, at our JCPenney and Dover Point of Dispensing (POD) sites by appointment only.

Appointments are available for tomorrow, Tuesday, April 13th,
at the former JCPenney store at the Poughkeepsie Galleria.

Dutchess County Public Transit (DCPT) provides free transportation to County’s fixed POD sites. Passengers simply need to show their appointment confirmation to the bus driver. Call (845) 473-8424 for more information.

Community Pop-ups

We will also be hosting pop-up vaccination sites at Arlington High School and in Millerton with J&J vaccine this week. Pop-up sites are also by appointment only. Additional pop-up sites are planned for Poughkeepsie, Pawling and Union Vale in the coming weeks.

Partner Pop-ups

We continue to partner with area primary care providers to vaccinate homebound and medically frail senior citizens as well as all other eligible individuals. Additionally, we are partnering with local colleges with doses allocated by New York State. These Partner Pop-up PODs are also by appointment only.

Dutchess County representatives continue to contact eligible individuals who have completed the Dutchess County Vaccination Information Request Form for appointment opportunities.

by phone or email to schedule appointments.


Eligibility Updates

All individuals age 16 and older are now eligible to be vaccinated.

*PLEASE NOTE: ONLY the Pfizer vaccine is approved for 16- and 17-year-olds. We do not currently have doses of the Pfizer brand. Pfizer vaccines are generally available at State-run mass vaccination sites. Visit the State's website for appointments.


Other Vaccine Allocations in Dutchess County

We have not yet received allocation information for other area vaccine providers New York State this week. 

Information will be posted our website as we receive it.


New York State Vaccination Sites

Appointments are available at the various NYS mass vaccination centers, which include SUNY Orange in Middletown and the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz. To register for appointments at the State sites, visit the State's "Am I Eligible?" website.

PRO TIP: Even if it says "No Appointments Available," click on your preferred site. There may be recently cancelled appointments available!


Reminders

 

You must show proof of your eligibility

Residents 18 years and older, please be prepared to show one of the following forms of ID at Dutchess County-operated sites:

  • Driver’s license or non-driver ID
  • Birth certificate issued by a state or local government
  • Current U.S passport or valid foreign passport
  • Permanent resident card
  • Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship
  • Life insurance policy with birthdate
  • Marriage certificate with birthdate

When Will I Get an Appointment?

You are receiving this email because you completed the Dutchess County Vaccination Information Request Form. You will be notified when a vaccination appointment at a Dutchess County-operated POD vaccination site in Poughkeepsie or Dover is available for you. Vaccine supply received from New York State varies from week to week.

Those without Internet access:

Please call the Dutchess County Coronavirus Information Line at 845-486-3555, Option 1, to hear weekly vaccine updates. You can then select Option 2 to speak with a representative.

Dutchess County seniors citizens:

If you are 60 and older and still need to receive your COVID-19 vaccination, please call the Office for the Aging at 486-2555 for assistance getting an appointment.

You can also check our website, www.dutchessny.gov/COVIDvaccine for appointment availability. Appointments may become available last minute due to cancellations or individuals we have contacted about appointment availability have already been vaccinated.

If we are unable to fill all appointments prior to an event, we will share the scheduling link with the full notification list to ensure we utilize every dose.

Already got your shot?

If you no longer need to be contacted about COVID-19 vaccination appointments, please complete our new Opt-Out Form. You will be removed from our notification list so we can more quickly notify others on the list about appointment opportunities. 

Please do not use this form to update your eligibility for a vaccine! To update information you originally submitted, please re-submit the Vaccine Information Request Form.
