Update for Tuesday, March 31, 2020:

  • The IRS has released guidelines on how the Economic Impact Payments will be distributed to the public for those who qualify. That guidance can be found HERE.
  • Governor Cuomo announced at his daily press conference that marijuana legalization would "not likely" be part of the budget that is supposed to be passed by tomorrow. He did say that bail reform is being discussed to be included though, and made no mention on possible changes in tax rates
  • Governor Cuomo also addressed the issue of renters who do not pay their rent due to the moratorium on evictions by saying “We'll deal with that when we get to it."
  • The New York Council of Nonprofits have released a page on their site that provides resources nonprofits may find helpful. This includes funding resources and opportunities. The page can be found HERE.
  • Dutchess Tourism will be hosting two Lunch and Learn events, on April 7 and 14, and the public is welcome to sign up to participate for one or both of them. The April 7 Lunch and Learn will be called "Marketing At A Distance", and the April 14 Lunch and Learn will focus on how to use Google's free business tools. You can sign up for the Lunch and Learns HERE.
  • Consumers and small businesses experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19 may defer paying premiums for property and casualty insurance for 60 days. Premium finance agencies are required to provide the same relief as insurers. This follows the State's Executive Order, which can be found HERE.
