Dutchess County Agriculture Remains Strong

Dutchess County boasts a rich farming heritage, and agriculture remains a vital component in driving our economy forward.

breakfastFrom livestock to produce, Dutchess County continues to be a leading producer in sales values throughout New York State. Our farms provide fresh food and food security; provide jobs for members of the community – on the farm, through value added processing, sales, and directly and indirectly related infrastructures. Dutchess County, for example, ranks first in the state in inventory number and sales value in horses.

The “State of Agriculture in Dutchess County 2017” report, presented at the Dutchess County Agricultural Breakfast, outlines the economics of agriculture in Dutchess County, the diversity of our agriculture and the objectives the County looks to accomplish for agriculture to evolve and succeed here.

The annual Dutchess County Agricultural Breakfast is sponsored by:

Dutchess County Dairy Committee
Dutchess Putnam Westchester Farm Bureau
Dutchess County Agricultural Society
Dutchess County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board
Dutchess County Soil and Water Conservation Service
Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County
