ICYMI: Councilwoman's Recap

Collaborating For a Brighter Future

Team Brune attended the Opportunity Youth Coalition Convening Recap. We talked about ways to continue supporting youth ages 16-24 in our valley.

We were to proud to sponsor ImpactNV's ConveneNV Conference. This year's theme was "Impact Through Action," focusing on collaboration for a sustainable future.

Supporting Exciting Events

I stopped by to support our boy scouts, who are amazing community partners. The Expo featured a weekend long event at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, where scouts learned new skills, explored nature and received merit badges.

The Las Vegas Book Festival was bigger and better than ever! I had the pleasure of introducing a panel that explored the importance of storytelling and imagination. We also had a fantastic moderator, Las Vegas Review-Journal journalist Patrick Blannerhasset.

Meeting With Neighbors

Neighbors gathered with us to talk about community development, traffic safety, protection of our horse-friendly trails and more Ward 6 updates.

We had a town hall to discuss possible future additions to Bradley Bridle Park. We loved hearing ideas and feedback!

Building Connections

Our "Around the Dinner Table" event series highlights the power of community.  For our first gathering, over 25 nonprofits came together to connect and support one another over dinner. Next up, we look forward to hosting faith leaders and small businesses.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and our speakers from JustServe and United Way!

Upcoming Ward 6 Events

Put on your favorite costume and join us at our Haunted Harvest tonight, 4-7:30 p.m. at the Centennial Hills Library and Centennial Hills Community Center/YMCA. There will be trunk-or-treating, games, a haunted house, DJ and so much more!

Nov. 12 - Bocaditos With Brune and Unveiling Celebration

Our next Bocaditos With Brune will be a little different! We're celebrating the unveiling of the new mural at Centennial Hills Park, a new milestone in our community. We'll be there with special guest speakers and the artist to connect. Refreshments will be provided.

Community Events & Resources

Neighborhood Partners Fund

Are you involved with a neighborhood-based association? Check out our city's Neighborhood Parters Fund!

To be eligible to apply for the Neighborhood Partners Fund (NPF) grant, you MUST attend the pre-grant meeting. The last one is THIS THURSDAY, Oct. 29, 5-6 p.m. at the Dula Community Center. The Department of Neighborhood Services hosts three NPF information sessions each year, and attendance at one session is required for organizations to submit an application. Only one representative from each organization is required to attend an information session. Since this Thursday's session is our last for the current cycle, we encourage interested organizations to take advantage of this final opportunity. Additional information about the Neighborhood Partners Fund, including program guidelines and session details, is available at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/Residents/Grants.

Through the current program, the average household is expected to save $6,543 on a high-quality solar installation. It is free to register, and there is no obligation to accept an offer if you register.

Take advantage of this opportunity by registering at SwitchTogether.com/Solar/LasVegas by Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026.
