Here’s What You Need To Know To Enjoy The Downtown Festival!
LAS VEGAS (Oct. 13, 2026) — The 2026 Las Vegas Book Festival, now in its 25th year, is free and for all ages. This one-day annual event returns Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth St., in downtown Las Vegas.
Plan to bring the entire family – there is plenty to enjoy for everyone. A Book Festival scavenger hunt will continue 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with prizes awarded at the end. Check the Discovery Tent schedule for performers, the Library Corner for story time, Rooms 160 and 180 for children’s activities, and the Nevada Humanities tent to make your own postcard or flipbook story. Spread the Word Nevada will have books and comics to give away as well as a chance to win free prizes. You can bring your books to donate there, too. And when the kids can’t hold still any longer, visit the Centennial Plaza on the northwest side of the building for outdoor games.
Parking in the city garages at 500 S. Main St. or 455 S. Third St. will be only $6 for the entire day. See the parking map here. Note that Fourth Street between Lewis and Clark avenues, and Clark between Fourth Street and Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed to vehicles but open to pedestrians.
More than 100 authors will participate in talks, panels and book signings. See the full schedule to plan your day at the book festival. Expect 50 exhibitors (see list and map).
