Congratulations To The Neighborhood Services Team!
A team of employees from Neighborhood Services recently facilitated lice screenings for more than 400 individuals in need. This is part of the department's continuing efforts to serve our most at-risk populations. This initiative required extensive coordination among service providers, shelters, outreach teams, healthcare partners and community stakeholders. Through thoughtful planning, collaboration and dedication, the team created a safe, respectful, and accessible opportunity for individuals experiencing homelessness to receive screening, education and treatment services. In a single day, the team successfully screened 439 individuals, demonstrating remarkable efficiency, dedication and teamwork. Their work helped address an important public health concern while demonstrating compassion, dignity and a commitment to serving some of our community's most vulnerable residents.

Monday Funday Trivia Building Community and Boosting Well-being
Sometimes, one of the best things we can do during a busy workday is step away from our usual routines, share a few laughs, and connect with the people around us.
Monday Funday Trivia offers more than an opportunity to test your knowledge. It creates space for employees to take a meaningful break, meet colleagues from
|
across the organization, and build relationships beyond their immediate teams. As we continue Building Community to Make Life Better, these small, shared experiences can help strengthen our internal community in lasting ways.
Why Connection At Work Matters Building a community of peers can make a meaningful difference in our day-to-day work. When we know people throughout the organization, it becomes easier to ask a question, request assistance, share information, solve a problem, or collaborate across departments.
Informal connections can also help break down organizational silos. The person sitting beside you at trivia today may be the colleague who helps you navigate a process, introduces you to a new resource, or offers a different perspective tomorrow.
Taking time to get to know one another can:
- Create a stronger sense of belonging and connection.
- Build trust and psychological safety among employees.
- Make cross-departmental communication and collaboration easier.
- Expand our internal network of knowledge, experience, and support.
- Give employees a healthy mental break from daily responsibilities.
- Reduce stress and help us return to work feeling refreshed.
- Boost morale by creating shared moments of fun and laughter.
- Help employees see one another as people — not just job titles, departments or email addresses.
Why Trivia Works Trivia creates an easy, inclusive way for people to connect. Everyone brings different interests, experiences, and areas of knowledge to the table, giving each person an opportunity to contribute and shine.
Remembering the correct answer can provide a small boost of energy and satisfaction. Missing an answer—or hearing a teammate’s wildly creative guess—can lead to the kind of shared laughter that helps people relax and feel more comfortable with one another.
It is not really about who knows the most. It is about making space for people to pause, participate and enjoy being part of a larger community.
Save the Date: “Back to Reality” Trivia Join us for our next Monday Funday Trivia event as we embrace the return to school, routines, productivity and the changing season, Monday, Sept. 28, 12-1 p.m. in the City Hall Basement Training Room. Bring your lunch, meet someone new. Take a moment to block your calendar and invite a colleague to join you. You may arrive for the trivia, but we hope you leave with a few laughs, a new connection and a stronger sense of belonging to our city community.
