May we never forget the lives lost, the heroes who responded, the families who continue to carry their loss, and the remarkable spirit of a nation that came together on that fateful day.
Ward 4 Councilwoman Francis Allen-Palenske’s Latest Episode Of "Access City Council"
Councilwoman Allen-Palenske welcomes Frank Pizarro, a former New York City firefighter, who shares his firsthand experience of Sept. 11, 2001, reflecting on the events that changed our nation 25 years ago. Frank also shares his personal journey and the lasting impact of that tragic day and what he is doing today to keep serving and making a difference in our community.
The episode also celebrates Excellence in Teaching, recognizing outstanding educators from three Ward 4 schools — elementary, middle and high school — for their dedication to our students, schools and community.
From honoring the heroes of yesterday to celebrating the educators shaping tomorrow’s leaders, this episode is a tribute to service, dedication and excellence in our community. Please take a few minutes to watch "Access City Council" as we remember, honor and celebrate those who make a difference.

YNAPP Applications Now Open
The city of Las Vegas Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program (YNAPP) offers grants of up to $2,000 for youth to create and implement neighborhood-based, service-learning projects of their own design. The 2026-2027 application period is open now through Oct. 29, 2026.
YNAPP youth acquire skills in leadership and teamwork while contributing to their communities. Youth are project leaders and work toward ways to make positive changes in their neighborhoods. Youth participants ages 8-18 (from neighborhood associations, social organizations, religious groups, educational institutions, etc.) are eligible to apply for YNAPP funding.

Sample projects include, but are not limited to, developing care packages, youth art/mural projects, reading projects, services for the homeless, building Little Free Libraries and community cleanups.
