Hello friends and neighbors,
I hope you’re all enjoying a wonderful Thursday! It’s time for our weekly newsletter, where we highlight recent happenings and share what’s coming up in our community.
This week, Ward 3 Councilwoman Olivia Diaz and I are excited to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary at the Blast Off in the Basin celebration of freedom and independence. This free event takes place on July 4 at Children’s Memorial Park.
Festivities begin at 7 p.m., with fireworks beginning promptly at 9:15 p.m. Enjoy a drone show, music from a live DJ, prizes and delicious offerings from local food trucks.
This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a safe, fun evening with family, friends and neighbors. Don’t forget your lawn chairs and get ready for a memorable night!
In that same spirit of connection and progress, our work continues. Don’t forget to check out the “Looking Ahead – Come Join Us!” section below for upcoming events and opportunities to stay engaged.
Wishing you a safe, meaningful and enjoyable July 4th weekend!
Warm regards,
Shondra Summers-Armstrong
