Jan. 22, 2026
Dear Neighbors,
We’re excited to share that our next town hall's topic is Housing 101! It's next Thursday, Jan. 29, 6-8 p.m. at the Centennial Hills Active Adult Center (6601 N. Buffalo Drive.). This will be a great opportunity to learn about home improvements and expansions, like RV storage or casitas, and to ask questions about planning, permits, water and housing development.
We’ll be joined by the city of Las Vegas Community Development Department and the Southern Nevada Water Authority, who will be there to share helpful information and answer your questions! RSVP to receive event reminders, although not required.
For more upcoming events, like our Bocaditos with Brune, Small Business Breakfast and Dazzle Prom, scroll down further to our "Events" section.
As always, if you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at ward6@lasvegasnevada.gov or call 702.229.5463.
At your service,
 Councilwoman Nancy E. Brune, Ph.D.

Celebrating Our Interfaith Community
As a person of deep faith, I was glad to attend the 18th anniversary of the Citywide Unity Prayer Breakfast. I'm committed to continuing to work with our faith leaders to serve and assist our community members.
Supporting Accessible Healthcare
Thank you to Dr. James Mah and UNLV Interim President Chris Heavey for the tour of UNLV’s new Advanced Needs Clinic, providing exceptional care for patients with intellectual and developmental differences.
Many of these services are offered at reduced or no cost. Bravo to UNLV for expanding access to quality healthcare for ALL in our community!
Supporting Our Unhoused Community
I joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Unhoused Compstat Community meeting to discuss support for our unhoused community. We explored available resources, upcoming programs and stable housing solutions for a brighter future.
Improving Our School Systems
I had a productive meeting with the Nevada Commission on School Funding.
We discussed weighted funding and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), a framework that organizes resources to help students thrive academically and behaviorally. I always appreciate these conversations as we work to strengthen our school systems!
Prioritizing Arts & Culture
We had another amazing Centennial Hills Tales and Mocktails Book Club meet-up in partnership with the Centennial Hills Library! We enjoyed reading and discussing "God of the Woods" by Liz Moore and connecting with fellow bookworms. Thank you to everyone who came out!
Helping CSN Grow & Thrive
I'm proud to continue my work with the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Institutional Advisory Council to grow and elevate our students, train our workforce, support our faculty and build the northwest campus.
