October 1 Remembrance Wednesday, Oct. 1, 10-11 p.m.
The Wednesday, Oct. 1, remembrance ceremony at the Las Vegas Community Healing Garden begins at 10 p.m. Road closures start at 7 p.m. Roads will reopen at 11 p.m. Major closures: Coolidge Avenue between First Street and Third Street; Casino Center Boulevard remains open.
First Friday in the Arts District Friday, Oct. 3, 5-11 p.m.
First Friday is a monthly art, music and food festival in the 18b Las Vegas Arts District from 5 to 11 p.m. Road closures start at 6 a.m. Oct. 3. Roads will reopen at 1 a.m. Oct. 4 Major closures: Main Street from Coolidge Avenue to Charleston Boulevard; First Street from Coolidge to Boulder Avenue; Boulder from First Street to Art Way. Reggae Rise Up Friday-Sunday, Oct. 3-5
This is a reggae music festival held in the Downtown Events Center. Road closures start at 6 a.m. Oct. 2. Roads will reopen at 6 a.m. Oct. 13. Walk A Mile In My Shoes Saturday, Oct. 4
This is an annual fundraising walk held in downtown Las Vegas. Road closures start at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 4. Roads will reopen at 1 p.m. Major closures: Single lane closure on Bonanza Avenue between D Street and North City Parkway; North City Parkway between Bonanza Avenue and Grand Central Parkway; lane closure on Grand Central Parkway. LVMPD National Night Out Tuesday, Oct. 7, 6-8 p.m.
Free community event hosted by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Road closures start at 4 p.m. Oct. 7. Roads will reopen at 9 p.m. Major closures: Boulder Avenue between Art Way and Main Street; First Street from Charleston to Coolidge avenues. See the map below.
Best Friends Forever Friday-Sunday, Oct. 10-12

Las Vegas PRIDE Parade Friday, Oct. 10, 7 p.m.
This annual parade held in downtown Las Vegas celebrates the LGBTQ community in Southern Nevada. Road closures start at 3 p.m. Oct. 10. Roads will reopen at midnight. Major closures: Fourth Street between Charleston Boulevard and Stewart Avenue; Third Street between Charleston Boulevard and Garces Avenue; all side streets in between. See the map below.
Las Vegas Book Festival Saturday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Las Vegas Book Festival, now in its 24th year, returns to downtown Las Vegas at the Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth St. Roads closures start at 5 a.m. Oct. 18.
