Mexican Mythologies: Past and Present

Best in Show winner Mariana Romero Martinez walks us through the latest exhibit at the Historic Fifth Street School, "Mexican Mythologies: Past and Present." This celebration of Mexican culture was brought together by a partnership with the city of Las Vegas and the Consulado de Mexico en Las Vegas.

This art exhibition explores ancient Mexican cultural mythologies that stimulate the imagination, using objects and images originally made by the Aztec, Mexica, or Culhua-Mexica people to create contemporary works that echo many of the Mexican people’s continued and newly created mythologies. The exhibit is display in the Historic Fifth Street School Mayor's Gallery, 401 S. Fourth St., through Jan. 16.
