Jan. 18, 2024
Dear Neighbors,
As we kick off the new year, it's a great time to shine a spotlight on the issues of health and wellness. January is "National Staying Healthy Month," which provides an opportunity to reflect on healthy goals and adopt healthy habits. From physical fitness to mental health, this month serves as a reminder to invest in ourselves and support one another on our individual journeys to health, happiness and well-being.
Check out "Get Healthy Clark County" for some awesome ideas on incorporating more activity and wellness into your daily routine! This fantastic tool, brought to you by the Southern Nevada Health District, promotes healthy living and empowers you to make healthy choices. I personally love using the "Neon to Nature" app, which features all the incredible walking and biking trails in Southern Nevada. We have 14 trails right here in Ward 6, offering over five miles of scenic walking paths. Our backyard is truly a recreational haven, so make sure you take full advantage of it! And don't forget about the "Walk Around Nevada" program, which helps you track your daily physical activities.
As always, if there is anything Team Brune can do to assist you, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
At your service,
Councilwoman Nancy Brune, Ph.D.

CIVILIAN MILITARY COUNCIL OF SOUTHERN NEVADA
Beginning this year, the city of Las Vegas is honored to be assuming the role of chair of the Civilian Military Council (CMC) of Southern Nevada. Established in 1957 to foster collaboration between the military and civilian sectors, the CMC convenes elected officials from every city in Southern Nevada to champion the interests of our esteemed service members.
Councilwoman Brune, representing the city of Las Vegas, has been appointed as the chair of the CMC, and she eagerly anticipates forging even stronger partnerships with Nellis and Creech Air Force bases, as well as collaborating closely with our dedicated servicemen and servicewomen, many of whom have chosen to call Ward 6 home. She looks forward to continuing to work on issues of military housing, affordable daycare, access to health care services and licensing issues. Please contact our office to share your ideas.
