Oct. 27, 2022

Dear Ward 3 neighbors,

I can’t believe that Halloween is only a few days away and the holidays are right around the corner! My team and I have been working hard preparing for a full calendar of events this November. I’ll be hosting several community meetings, neighborhood cleanups, a shredding event, and a Thanksgiving lunch for our fabulous seniors in Ward 3. Also, the city is investing almost $40 million dollars in Ward 3 to complete sidewalk projects that address pedestrian safety in our neighborhoods. I invited Mike Janssen, our executive director of Infrastructure, to join me on my latest Access City Council to share the news regarding the sidewalk infill project and bus turnout out lanes coming soon on Eastern Avenue. Nov. 3, I will be hosting a neighborhood meeting at Rancho High School to share these projects with residents. We invite everyone to join us, especially those who live on Stewart and Owens from Bruce to Eastern. The Huntridge Circle Park survey is now live and can be accessed here. Residents are invited to join me Nov. 7 to learn the survey results and next steps for the park. Please enjoy more details below on these and all other events coming soon to the Ward.

Yours in service,

Olivia Díaz

Arthur McCants

Care For Humanity Day at Arthur McCants Manor Senior Apartments

Last Sunday, I joined residents of the Arthur McCants Senior Apartments to thank our Las Vegas Fire & Rescue staff at the Care for Humanity day of service event hosted by Iglesia Ni Cristo, a local Ward 3 church. Fire Chief Fernando Gray and crew members from Station 8, who responded to a fire at the complex last year, were recognized for their valor and keeping all residents safe during that incident.

Winter Watering Restrictions

Be sure to change your water clock Nov. 1 to water only one day per week, and never on Sunday. Think of the wasted water and money you will save!

Time Change Fall

Daylight Savings Time ends Sunday, Nov. 6.

Remember to set your clock back one hour.
