2021 Citizen Survey Results
At the Feb. 16 meeting, the City Council got a report from Jason Morado of the ETC Institute, the company that does the citywide citizens survey. Due to the pandemic, we held off surveying the community in 2020, but resumed again in the fall of 2021. We want to share with you what Jason and his team said the community thought of the city.
Dustin Lobock
Feb. 13, one of our Department of Public Safety marshals, Dustin Lobock, was seriously injured while on duty. He is currently recovering from surgery. Metro police say Dustin’s city patrol car was hit broadside by a driver who was fleeing in a stolen car from Metro police. The stolen vehicle was occupied by five juveniles. Three of those teens also were injured, while the driver and a passenger ran away on foot. Dustin was badly injured in the crash and required emergency surgery that day.
Two cards have been printed to allow city team members to send him get well wishes and encouragement. These cards will be available to sign for the rest of the day. One card has been placed on a table on the second-floor lobby in City Hall outside chambers and the other at the Department of Public Safety office.
We know that Dustin will appreciate your thoughts and prayers as he recovers.
Are You Using The Right Signature Block?
Just a reminder to employees to use the correct signature block when sending email correspondence. The City Manager's Office wants employees to use this standard block so those receiving your communication know it’s coming officially from someone at the city, and to reinforce our brand standard. In the past, employees were using many different signature blocks, and departments and even divisions had their own logos. This created confusion as to what was officially coming from the city, and watered down the city brand. That has changed. The city seal serves as both logo and brand, and your signature blocks should be part of a standard brand, as well.
Please download the Email Signature Block document, which can also be found on the Resources Page under the Office of Communications on the employee portal. Since this is a Word document, all you have to do is open it, and then copy and paste the template into your Outlook signature block. There are instructions as well as an example.
In addition, the approved city seals, band guide and branded powerpoint templates are also all on the employee portal under Communications Resources. Of course if anyone needs help on any of this, a member of the Public Affairs team in the Office of Communications can assist you.
