Victoria Seaman Councilwoman, Ward 2
Councilwoman Victoria Seaman's Updates
I had the honor to participate in the celebration of Keyauna Smith at her Women in Need of Change (WIN) Court Graduation. She has newfound strengths and self-worth, creating a bright future ahead for herself and her child. Thank you to Judge Cynthia Leung and the WIN Court team for the dedication and inspiration in helping these young women overcome addiction, trauma, and the obstacles they encounter.
I had the honor of attending the city of Las Vegas government remembrance ceremony at the Las Vegas Community Healing Garden, marking the fourth anniversary of a night that changed Las Vegas forever. I will never forget the outpouring of love and compassion that embraced this community when evil came upon us. May we never forget the victims and their families.
We had a very busy morning with our Breakfast Buzz & Ward 2 Biz at Charlie's Lakeside. What a wonderful turnout! I always enjoy hearing what the citizens of Ward 2 have to say. I was blessed to have my stepdaughter and son-in-law in town to join us.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Ward 2 Movie in the Park to watch “Dolittle.” It was a great event and so much fun to see everyone having a good time.
It was great to help host the birthday party for 4-year-old foster child Angel. We are truly blessed to have people willing to step up and open their hearts and homes to these kids. A special shout out to city of Las Vegas government Marshal Scott Edwards and his wife Teresa for coming out and giving the kids a thrill. What a great day!
I want to congratulate the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for a successful “National Night Out” event. These events are a great way for LVMPD to connect with the community and share important information. It was great seeing everyone there!
Thank you Fernando Romero for inviting me to the Hispanics In Politics monthly breakfast to speak about the wonderful things happening in the city of Las Vegas.
We had two very special ceremonial presentations at our City Council meeting. First was the presentation of a Purple Heart, long overdue, to 98-year-old D-Day veteran Pfc. Onofrio “No-No” Zicari. He was wounded on D-Day in 1944 and was not awarded the medal he deserved, until now.
This was followed by recognizing our Sandpipers of Nevada Swim Team Olympians for their outstanding performance at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo. Bowe Becker won a gold medal, Erica Sullivan and Bella Sims both won silver medals, and Katie Grimes with her outstanding performance in the 800-meter freestyle. Congratulations to them on a job well done!

It was great to join my friends at the Las Vegas Korean Association for their Hangul Day event at Ansan Sister City Park. I had the honor of presenting a proclamation by the city of Las Vegas government, recognizing, Oct. 9 as Hangul Day. Hangul Day celebrates the creation of the Korean language in the 15th century. They put on a wonderful event highlighting their Korean culture.
I want to thank Get Outdoors Nevada, The Meadows School, and all the wonderful volunteers who showed up for the Ward 2 cleanup at Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex. We are truly blessed in Las Vegas to have so many people that care so deeply about their community.
