Councilwoman Victoria Seaman's Updates
It was great to join the men and women of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Summerlin Area Command at their First Tuesday community outreach, now returned to an in-person event. This was an outstanding opportunity for them to share crime prevention tips with the residents.
We had a very busy Breakfast Buzz & Ward 2 Biz at Hash House a Go Go. What a wonderful turnout! I always enjoy hearing what the citizens of Ward 2 have to say.
As a City of Las Vegas councilwoman, I take fiscal accountability very seriously. That is why I am honored to serve as chairwoman of the city’s Audit Committee.
Donald Walsh was sworn in as the new planning commissioner for Ward 2 in the City of Las Vegas. We are so happy to have him.
I had the honor of recognizing the incredible men and women of the UMC Trauma Center for the amazing job they did saving the life of Pastor Russ Smethers. While we focused on their actions with one patient, these extraordinary people save many lives every day.
My special assistant had a great meeting with the City of Las Vegas Traffic Engineering Department. She learned so much about how they serve the city. If you have any traffic concerns in Ward 2, please contact us at 702-229-2420 or Ward2@lasvegasnevada.gov so that we can help.
I had the honor to provide certificates of recognition to these fine young men for graduating from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's D.R.E.A.M. Program. I wish them great success in their journey ahead. I would like to give special thanks to officers Donte and Adrian for mentoring, Capt. Fred Haas, Lt. Michelle Tavarez, Sgt. Brian Leahy and all the amazing men and women of the LVMPD Summerlin Area Command for their wonderful commitment to our community.
I want to thank my good friend Elizabeth Gallagher for inviting me to be a part of the City Impact Center recognition of Max, a 7-year-old-boy, and his sister Eva, age 5, who are already giving back to their community. They raised over $52,000. I am proud to support City Impact and all the amazing things they do for our city. To learn more about them and how you can help, please visit www.cicnv.org.
