Councilwoman Victoria Seaman's Updates
I had the honor of nominating Officer Shay Mikalonis as the city of Las Vegas May 2021 Citizen of the Month. I was so moved by his entire squad showing up to honor him, and the words of Shay’s stepfather, Patrick Neville, telling us how Shay felt the honor should go to his fellow officers and the emergency workers who saved his life. My thoughts and prayers go out to Shay and his entire family as he continues his recovery.

It is so great to see Sandpipers of Nevada, the Las Vegas Swim Team, all the other swimmers and clubs out here competing at the Pavilion Pool.
The Ward 2 Document Shredding event had a great turnout! So very happy to see that many of our residents get involved in using these important services.
We want to tell you about what International Church of Las Vegas (ICLV) is doing through the month of May. They have been giving away pallets of food to needy families week after week. Please see the video on the bottom-right corner above for more information.
I had the pleasure of presenting a certificate of recognition on behalf of the Mayor and the Las Vegas City Council to the Clark County Medical Alliance during their annual fashion show to raise money for all the wonderful work they do in our community. We also presented Pauline Lee with a certificate recognizing her work in the community. Thanks for all you do! What a great group of women!
I had the pleasure of officially welcoming Ward 2 citizens with dozens of Pinkbox Doughnuts to the re-opening of our Veterans Memorial Community Center. Many are coming in to enjoy the fitness classes and the other programs this great center provides.
I want to thank the Armenian community for the opportunity to be a part of their event honoring, recognizing, and remembering the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. May we never forget, because the easiest way for history to repeat itself is for it to be forgotten.
It was great to be a part of the ribbon-cutting for the magnificent new Municipal Courthouse with Mayor Goodman, her husband former Mayor Oscar Goodman, Chief Judge Bert Brown, former Chief Judge Cynthia Leung, Judge Cedric Kerns, and all the other dignitaries. Thank you to the Molasky family whose company is responsible for many buildings and developments in the city, including this beautiful building.
