Road Construction Is Planned For Fort Apache Road Between Desert Inn Road and Charleston Boulevard
Construction began March 29 on sidewalk and street improvements on the east and west sides of Fort Apache Road between Desert Inn Road and Charleston Boulevard. Work will continue for four weeks, with hours 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Between the hours of 3 p.m. and 9 a.m., traffic will be generally restricted to two travel lanes in each direction, north- and southbound. Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., traffic will generally be restricted to one lane in each direction, north- and southbound.
Hualapai Way and Durango Drive are recommended as alternate routes for north- and southbound traffic.
The work will consist of removal and replacement of non-compliant concrete sidewalk ramps, concrete cross gutters, concrete curb and gutter, and small asphalt patches along Fort Apache Road.
Mikon Construction is the contractor. The city of Las Vegas is managing the project. The estimated cost of the project is $500,000, with funding provided by the Southern Nevada Regional Transportation Commission’s Fuel Revenue Indexing tax.
