 Spark! Poetry Writing and Recitation Competition
The 2019 Las Vegas Book Festival will honor young poets through the Spark! Poetry Writing and Recitation Competition. Clark County high school students are invited to compete by completing a registration form by Tuesday, Oct. 1.
Participating students will be asked to present three original poems to be judged by a panel of poets, authors, educators and other community members; the top three highest-scoring students will receive cash awards of $300 for first place, $200 for second place and $100 for third place.

The Las Vegas Book Festival is the largest literary event in Nevada. The annual celebration of the written, spoken and illustrated word is free and open to the public.
It is sponsored by a collaboration of local public sector and nonprofit partners and produced by the city of Las Vegas and Nevada Humanities.
