New City Council Members!
I'd like to welcome Brian, Victoria and Olivia to the Las Vegas City Council!
I'm looking forward to working with our new council members for the residents of our great city.

Code Ninjas
One of my favorite things to do is welcome new businesses to Ward 6. Last week, it was my honor to cut the ribbon at the grand opening of the new Code Ninjas location at 6955 N. Durango Drive, Suite 1114.
Las Vegas children ages 7-14 can look forward to visiting the new Code Ninjas center to learn how to code in a fun, safe, and social learning environment where gaming is celebrated, and STEM is cool. Everything about Code Ninjas is built around fun, which keeps kids coming back. But the center also provides the results that parents are looking for, as their children gain coding and problem-solving skills they’ll need for the jobs of the future.
Welcome to Ward 6, Code Ninjas!
Silverstone Ranch Benefit for Police K-9 Units
Once again, the great people of Silverstone Ranch held a dog walk and coloring contest to raise funds for our police canine units/Friends For Las Vegas Police K9s. Above are the winners of the coloring contest. We thank everyone who participated in this wonderful event and the support for our police dogs!
Work Ready Community
Tuesday, June 11, 2019, before our regular Local Elected Official Consortium meeting, we celebrated that Clark County is the largest single county to ever be certified as a Work Ready Community.
Across the nation, the Work Ready Communities initiative is helping counties, states and regions build a more productive workforce and encourage economic growth. Congratulations to everyone who made this happen!
Teton Trails Lacrosse Field # 3
We are adding a third lacrosse field to Teton Trails Park at 7850 N. Bradley Road (corner of Bradley and Grand Teton Drive. The general contractor, American Southwest Electric, has been given approval to proceed, but is not expected to be moving dirt for a couple months, while they gather materials and schedule work. Construction is expected to take seven months from the notice to proceed, so it should be ready by the end of January 2020. The contractor has to grade and subgrade the vacant corner lot, install LED sports lights and artificial turf. The field also will be striped for soccer. There are existing nearby restrooms. The project budget is $1.5 million, with the funds coming from the city’s Municipal Sports Unit budget and Residential Construction Tax proceeds. There will eventually be a fourth field at this location, once there are funds available.
