National Citizen's Day Assistance Workshop

A big thank you to all who attended the National Citizen's Day Assistance Workshop on Sept. 22 at the East Las Vegas Community Center.  The attendance was fantastic and, more importantly, many people obtained the proper advice and assistance to accomplish their goals for citizenship!

Award-winning author Colson Whitehead has received a number of recognitions for his novels. The story traces the journey of two slaves who make a bid for freedom from the deep south via a literal underground system.

International Soccer Tournament (U9-U16)

Free for spectators of all ages. The platinum-ranked Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup International Soccer Tournament is co-hosted by the city of Las Vegas and Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club. Last year’s tournament featured more than 500 teams from 14 U.S. States, Canada, Haiti and Mexico. Gold and silver levels are offered for boys and girls, with each team guaranteed three games. Individual awards are offered for first and second place. Spectators should bring their own seating, as thousands of people are expected to attend and participate; carpooling is encouraged as parking lots will fill up quickly.
