Printmaking for Teens & Adults

Learn about the unique personalities of iconic Wetlands Park animals and create lively anthropomorphized portraits with monotype, a painterly printmaking technique.

Come discover these misunderstood mammals and the important role they play while getting the rare opportunity to walk the Nature Preserve after dark.

Nature Art for Kids

Experience nature through art and have fun while learning kid-friendly watercolor painting and drawing skills. Theme: Wetlands Waterways.

Nature Tales

Wetlands Park staff and volunteers present a nature-themed story and craft with a short age-appropriate lesson. All ages, free. Advance registration is not required, walk-ins welcome.

Eco Explorers with Red Rock Audubon

Wetlands Park and Red Rock Audubon are teaming up to offer Eco Explorers this summer!
During the Eco Explorer program, we will learn about some of these animals and the relationships that they have to wetlands. We will journal about our nature observations, learn how to better and safely observe wildlife, learn about a few unique birds that live along Las Vegas Wash, and learn ways that we can attract animals to our homes.
Ages 4-8. Fee: $5 per child. This program is full.

Sunday Storytime with Whitney Library

Storytime with a Librarian! Join a librarian from Whitney Library for an engaging story, song, and craft. All ages, free. Advance registration is not required, walk-ins welcome.

Discovery Walk: Beaver
Saturday, July 15 5 am to 7 am Register here
Join us for this fun event and learn the natural history of the Wetlands Park Beaver and how they got here and where can they be found. Tour includes known beaver areas at the Wetlands. Observe scent mounts, canals, downed trees and other evidence, Watch beavers as they prepare to sleep the day away. Remember, they are crepuscular, which means they are most active at dusk and dawn!

Charcoal Drawing Art Class
Saturday, July 15 9 am to 11 am Register here
Learn how to draw animals in motion in this charcoal drawing class for beginners.
Participants may also choose to attach their drawings to a large-scale habitat illustration that will be displayed in the Wetlands Park Nature Center for one month.
All Materials Provided. Ages 15+. Fee: $15.

Volunteers Needed! Wetlands Park is seeking volunteers, especially Information Hosts in our Nature Center and Education Facilitators for school Field Trips.
Is volunteering at Wetlands Park right for you? The first step to becoming a volunteer is to attend this informational class about the history of Wetlands Park, volunteer opportunities, and the process to become a Clark County Volunteer.

Kids Create:
Wetlands Waterways Wildlife

Kids will learn the basics of clay molding techniques and color theory while creating their own clay animal or foot print to take home.
Ages 3+. Fee: $10 per child. Advance sign up required.

Creative Papermaking
Sunday, July 22 11 am to 12:30 pm
Create handmade paper for cards and gifts. You’ll learn how to incorporate natural materials such as seeds, leaves or pressed flowers and decorate with stamps and molds. We'll also use all-natural dyes. All ages, kids to adults.
Advance registration NOT required, walk-ins welcome. Free.

You are also welcome to call us at (702) 455-7522. Once we have registered you in the program, we will send payment instructions. Note: please do not send payment info by email, and we may not accept it by phone. You are also welcome to register in person by visiting the Nature Store Tuesday through Sunday, 9 am to 3 pm.
