Dear District 2 Residents:

I am honored to serve as your County Commissioner and to work alongside you to build a stronger, healthier, and more equitable community. With over 35 years of leadership in public health policy and civic engagement, I bring a lifelong commitment to serving our diverse residents. Together, we will tackle critical issues like behavioral health, housing, enhancement of public safety and environmental sustainability. I am dedicated to ensuring every voice is heard and every resident thrives. Let’s move forward together!

COMMUNITY FIRST

Centering the voices of diverse communities ensures that our county government is representative of the residents we serve and helps achieve equity. Just after my swearing-in on Dec 27, I hit the ground running, responding to 30+ calls and emails from residents. I’ve also enjoyed joining community leaders in online and in-person meetings to begin strategizing on sub-district priorities. Starting in February, I will be hosting “Cafecito Con Lisa” at different localities in District 2- So stay tuned for more and sign up for Up2Date News and/or volunteer to host a Cafecito! POLICY MATTERS

At my first Board of County Commissioners meeting (Jan 14), I was voted by my peers to be Vice Chair of the Commission and confirmed to serve on seven committees (4primary). January 21st marks the start of the 57th Legislation (60-day session). So, I’ve been meeting with legislators on District 2 needs and will participate in the NM Counties’ Legislative Conference January 20-23. I support the legislative proposals for significant investments to Improve New Mexico’s behavioral health infrastructure and tackle public safety!

Join Commissioner Cacari Stone and the NAACP in celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 20th, Noon to 1 pm at the New Mexico State Capitol Rotunda (490 Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe, NM87501).
