The Public Safety Recruitment Day is Saturday, August 1 from 10 a.m. – 2
p.m. at Sam’s Club, 4201 Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM.
The annual event is held to provide an opportunity for individuals
to talk with Santa Fe County employees from the Sheriff's Office, Regional
Emergency Communications Center, Corrections Department, and Fire Department
about what their jobs entail. This event will also provide the
opportunity for those individuals to take practice written tests and
participate in practice physical agility tests.
There will be practice written exams for the Sheriff's Office,
Corrections and Fire Department positions. There will also be different
stations for sit-up and push-up tests, and the Fire Department will set up
their equipment for their step test, dummy drag, and fire hose drag.
In addition to the recruitment activities the community can stop
by to see fire engines, a SWAT truck, sheriff units, and just speak with experienced
employees excited to talk about the positions they hold.
The event is free of charge. To participate in the physical agility tests
you will need to bring your driver’s license and come in comfortable
clothing.
