Detour Coming to Road 3000
For those of you who travel County Road 3000 between Flora Vista and Aztec, or live there, we have some major disruptions coming your way. Starting Monday, March 3, 2025, there will be NO THROUGH TRAFFIC while crews replace a bridge. The closure is between Road 3307 and 3312.
Construction will continue for four months, and there is the possibility of single-lane closures after that. We have already made arrangements with local first responders and school districts. This will be an inconvenience for quite a while, and we apologize for this disruption. However, in exchange, there will be a new, safer bridge that includes pedestrian lanes. Thank you for your patience!

Hot Topics
As spring approaches, so does the upcoming wildland fire season. This winter, so far, has proven to be much more of a extension of fall to spring. We remind our citizens to stay vigilant and practice some fire safe behaviors. Only burn on days when atmospheric conditions allow and by obtaining a burn permit. Be mindful of the wind and adjacent fuels that could promote fire spread. Never leave your fire unattended, have a reliable water source available and keep fires at least 50 from structures. We allow open burning until 1 hour before sunset.
We encourage our community to conduct agricultural burning, however the spring usually brings wind coupled with dormant fuels available to burn this year. Pay close attention to the weather, both current and forecasted. If practicing hot work (grinding, welding, anything that can create excessive heat or sparks), always keep a fire watch in place for at least 30 minutes after work ends. Keep a water source or fire extinguisher available at all times. If a fire does become out of control call 9-1-1. The Predictive services has forecasted the next 90 days to be above average temperatures and below average precipitation, please practice fire safety.
