The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) Surface Water Quality Bureau (SWQB) will be providing an
overview of the EPA's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
(NPDES) Construction General Permit (CGP) requirements to provide a
refresher to the construction community. The target audience for these
presentations will be the owners and/or operators responsible for
obtaining permit coverage, so likely attendees would be the signatory
authorities and environmental staff for companies covered under the CGP.
Material
presented will focus on the eligibility requirements for permit
coverage (including Endangered Species Act and National Historic
Preservation Act requirements) and a high level overview of the permit
and its requirements, including information on SWPPPs (Storm Water
Pollution Prevention Plans), water quality information, inspection
requirements, corrective action requirements, stabilization measures,
and an overview of what NMED and EPA look for during compliance
evaluation inspections.
The training will also include an
interactive session in order to get hands on with implementation of
permit requirements, as well as time for questions and answers. The
specific agenda is below:

9:45am: Permit Eligibility: ESA and NHPA processes to determine eligbility
10:45am: Break
11am: Permit overview & What NMED and EPA are looking for during a compliance inspection

1:15pm: BMP implementation and maintenance - guest speaker
2pm: Interactive CGP Exercise
4pm: Adjourn

FAQs
What can I bring into the event?
No
food or drink is permitted in the Runnels building auditorium. You may
bring a cell phone (but it will need to be placed on silent or vibrate)
and a notebook.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No.
NMED will be maintaining a roster of individuals registered for the
class and will be checking those folks in as they arrive. You must be
