 Exhibit Opening and Celebration
Earth, Architecture, and Community: A Global Conversation
Saturday, April 4, 2026
3:00pm to 5:00pm
Please join us at the Gutierrez-Hubbell House for an opening celebration of our new exhibit, "Earth, Architecture, and Community: A Global Conversation." Discover how earth has served as a building material across continents for millennia. Featuring global examples, local histories, and explanations of earthen craft, this exhibit highlights the intersection between land, architecture, and community. For opening day, try out the adobe foot mixing station, but wear clothing you don't mind getting dirty! Enjoy live music, light refreshments, face painting, and don't forget to craft your own adobe brick at our outdoor tiny brick station to take home with you.
Motels on Route 66/Central Ave in Albuquerque
Saturday, April 25, 2026
11:00am to 12:30pm
The fourth presentation of the Route 66 Centennial Speaker Series will be given by Gary Herron. Back in July 1975, Gary Herron and his then-wife checked into the luxurious Pinon Motel on Central, just west of Wyoming Boulevard. Gary now has an interesting story about the 100 or so motels that once lined Central Avenue, aka Route 66!
