Welcome Wendi Laws, Our New Site Manager at the Gutierrez-Hubbell House!
"After graduating from University of Oklahoma with an MA in Museum Studies, I launched my career working for park systems in Texas such as Texas Parks and Wildlife, Travis County Parks, and City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department. I eventually transitioned to managing historic sites for City of Austin, including the Historic Ranger Cottage, the O. Henry Museum, and the Susanna Dickinson Museum. I oversaw the O. Henry Museum through an extensive renovation and opened it to the public in 2022 as well as completing programming and exhibits for the O. Henry Museum and Susanna Dickinson Museum in Brush Square since 2019. Since returning to New Mexico in 2023, I have been the site manager for multiple State of New Mexico Historic sites such as Taylor-Mesilla and Coronado Historic Sites where I was able to learn about taking care of historic adobe structures and New Mexico history. I am thrilled to be living in Albuquerque and working at the Gutiérrez-Hubbell House. There is so much work to be done here, and I look forward to connecting with our community in the South Valley, caring for the property, and creating beautiful programs and exhibitions for the Gutiérrez-Hubbell House."
